A 66-year-old grandfather who exercised daily was stunned to know he was pre-diabetic, and says that making a small change in his eating habits helped reverse him.
Dance professor Will Mckechnie, by Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, told Swns that he had always been considered healthy.
5 feet of 10 inches high and 167 pounds, wearing a medium -sized t -shirt, danced seven times a week and did not think twice in his daily snacks: a chocolate bar and a bag of chips.

“Honestly, I thought it was really in shape and health,” said McKechnie.
But, after submitting free screening for people over 60 in May 2023, a routine blood test showed that its average blood sugar level was 6.2%, a pre-diabetis indicator, according to SWNS.

McKechnie did not find out until a year later, during an unrelated appointment, when his doctor reviewed the results.
“He struck me and worried that he was pre-diabetic,” he said.

McKechnie continued: “When he said he would not be reversible during his 48 years, he scared me. He petrified the idea that he could begin to have poor health.”
Determined to turn around, McKechnie made some important changes, not only in what he ate, but how.

He cut the night chocolate and the fried potatoes, started eating whole and nutritious foods and began to chew the food much more slowly.
Now, his lunch, a comprehensive chicken sandwich, takes 40 minutes to eat.
“Now I only have a very occasional and much smaller gift,” McKechnie told Swns.

Its breakfast now consists of fruits, and a typical dinner includes boiled eggs, toasted peanuts, celery, cherry tomatoes, carrots and cucumber.
When focusing on a slower diet and more conscious eating options, McKECHNIE launched almost 27 pounds, bringing it to 142 pounds and a small small shirt.
“I honestly thought it was really in shape and health.”
He also lost two centimeters from his waist, and most importantly, blood sugar fell to 5.9% in nine months, SWNS reported.
“I am very determined,” said McKechnie.

He added, “If I think about doing something, I will and go down the blood sugar.”

Four’s grandfather said he no longer fights sugar wishes and is not a desire to hurry in stores to solve chocolate.
He also stays busy to take care of his 18 -month grandson and teach two dance classes a week.

McKechnie, who quit in 1986 and stopped drinking in 2012, believes that everyone should be proactive to check their health, even if they look healthy outside.
